Time flies when you're having fun.

Right now we're in the midst of our 50th Anniversary celebrations and alumni have been having a blast reconnecting with the people who made their university days unforgettable.

Common experiences link together generations of Lakehead students – late night studying in the Chancellor Paterson Library, seminars where complex ideas are debated, getting lost in the maze of the Centennial Building on the way to a lab.

We are very proud of the role our alumni have played in shaping Lakehead University. All of you – from early alums like Dominic Man-Kit Lam and Roy Piovesana to graduating students like Sami Pritchard and Anna Lisa Martin – have become part of a rich and dynamic legacy.

As we embark on the final half of our 50th Anniversary year, Lakehead would like to once again extend an invitation to each of you to join us for our inaugural Homecoming Weekends. The Thunder Bay campus events take place from October 2 to 4 and the Orillia campus events take place on November 12 and 13.

Homecoming will be a time to strengthen relationships and relive favourite memories. There will be class reunions, campus tours, meet and greets, a special speakers series, and sporting events where you can show your school spirit by cheering on Lakehead's current crop of talented student athletes.

In Thunder Bay, alumni will be able to cut loose at a '60s-themed social at The Outpost Pub and former varsity athletes can sign up to play volleyball, basketball, and wrestling with their old teammates during the Zanatta Alumni Games.

At the Orillia Homecoming, alumni will have a front row seat for the unveiling of Lakehead's 2014-15 Annual Report during a luncheon at the Hawk Ridge Golf & Country Club. The highlight of the anniversary celebrations in Thunder Bay and Orillia will be the Homecoming Gala Dinner and Dance with live entertainment.

Visit our 50th Anniversary website (50.lakeheadu.ca) for the full Homecoming schedules and to get the details on great flight, hotel, and car rental discounts for alumni.
