Regain a Sense of Community

Our alumni chapters foster enduring relationships and offer wonderful social, professional, and volunteer opportunities.

Have fun at special events like pub nights, help with student recruitment, or mentor a recent grad looking for guidance.

You'll have the steadfast support of fellow alumni and promote pride in your alma mater.

Choose Your Chapter

REGIONAL CHAPTER: A chapter defined by geography – it could be a country, a province, or a city depending on the concentration of alumni.

ACADEMIC CHAPTER: A chapter organized by an academic unit such as a Lakehead faculty, department, school, or program.

ASSOCIATE CHAPTER: Alumni who share a special affinity can form their own chapter. The Student Alumni Association for current students and the Indigenous Council for Aboriginal alumni are excellent examples. For more information about starting a chapter, contact alumni@lakeheadu.ca

"Engaging, celebrating, and sharing with alumni is at the heart of what we do."

Calgary's frontier spirit has made it a global leader

Energy defines Calgary.

Energy that generates top-quality entertainment, exceptional restaurants, and world-class sporting events – the energy and spirit that has made Calgary a global financial centre. This diverse city is an exciting place to live and work, and that's exactly what many Lakehead grads are doing.

We want to connect with the more than 500 alumni in the Calgary area and offer them the chance to have rewarding experiences. Don't be left out – get in touch by emailing us at calgary.chapter@lakeheadu.ca

Hockey and friends are the perfect combination on a winter night

The Ottawa Chapter kicked off the new year with fanfare – a meet-and-greet with Lakehead University President Brian Stevenson at the Royal Oak Pub.

Other memorable events are in the works including our annual Night with the Sens hockey event and the Annual Send-Off Barbecue in August. Become one of the Ottawa-area alum who share adventures and camaraderie. For more information, contact Chapter President Marc Paradis at ottawa.chapter@lakeheadu.ca

Greater Toronto Area Chapter

Since the '60s we've been giving our alumni the royal treatment

Lakehead is now back in the Greater Toronto Area! In late October, a small group of alumni leaders met to re-start the GTA Chapter. We are now reaching out to all grads. Our primary goal is to bring people together via social and sporting events, so let us help you reconnect and meet new people. You'll soon be enjoying the wealth of professional, social, and cultural activities the GTA Chapter has to offer. Contact us at gta.chapter@lakeheadu.ca and reap the benefits of being part of a dynamic alumni association.

Simcoe County Chapter

The odds are in your favour when you join the Simcoe Chapter

Thanks to the Lakehead Orillia campus, we are building a strong community of active alumni in Simcoe County. We engage alumni, students, faculty, and staff in meaningful ways – whether it's a networking event, a round of golf, or a boat cruise on Lake Couchiching in the gateway to Ontario's beautiful cottage country. If you are in the Simcoe area and would like to get involved, or just say hello, email us at simcoe.chapter@lakeheadu.ca

Thunder Bay Chapter - Coming Soon!

It's hard to believe that we haven't had a Thunder Bay chapter. But that’s about to change. Contact alumni@lakeheadu.ca to become part of the newest alumni group in the city where Lakehead has been making history since 1965.
